University of Arkansas Cossatot

Over $10 million in federal grant awards

Project Summary

University of Arkansas Cossatot (UA Cossatot) is an accredited two-year institution affiliated with the University of Arkansas System. The only Hispanic-Serving Institution in the state of Arkansas, UA Cossatot is committed to improving the lives of those in rural southwest Arkansas by providing quality education, outstanding service, and relevant industry training. UA Cossatot offers degrees and certificates in more than two dozen fields and also offers four associate degrees completely online, with a roster of more than 60 online college courses to date.

Recognizing a need to add grant writing capacity, UA Cossatot first hired New Growth to write a grant proposal in early 2019, which expanded into a retainer contract beginning in the fall of 2019. Services include grant forecasting and research, project ideation support, and all aspects of proposal development and submission.

Outcome

In total, over the past six years, New Growth has written over $10,265,000 in winning proposals for UA Cossatot.  Awards have come from a variety of federal funding agencies; including the Department of Labor, Department of Education, the USDA, and the National Science Foundation.

Recent decades have seen a decline in state funding for community colleges, which hits a rural college like us especially hard since we serve less dense populations. Our partnership with New Growth has been instrumental in securing funds to launch innovative programs and impact more UA Cossatot students.  I can’t thank them enough for being attentive to our grant writing needs. The executive team here loves the relationship we have with New Growth.”

- Dr. Steve Cole, Chancellor, UA Cossatot
